I learnt Ghana now has about 18 Golf Clubs. Where most of them are in the Western Region at Takoradi, Benso, Obuasi, Bogoso, Damang, Awaso, Tarkwa, Nsuta, Damang and the rest are also spread around the country like Achimota, Sakumono, Burma Camp Airforce Mess, Tema in Greater Accra Region,Tafo, and New Abirem in the Eastern Region, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region and basics in the Central Region at Wind Bay and  Coconut  Groove.

According to my research confirms that these golf facilities are mainly at Mining Towns and previous regal settlements. This is the short listed of present figure of Golf courses;

Now that you know golf course I will entreat to take part in this sport activity and you will be glad you did. It does not cause much to acquire the equipments. What is required of you is your commitments and consistency in the discipline of the game.

GOLF IS NOT FOR RICH PEOPLE ONLY

I share the view that the sport does not belong to the elites only, but for all regardless of one’s financial standings. Tournaments as MTN Asantehene Gold Cup, Spoons Classic, and CEO tourney, among others have become permanent competitions on the country’s sporting calendar yet people would not engaged in golf simply because they think it is for class of persons enjoying superior intellectual only.

Some people have this myth that, Golf is for a group or class of persons enjoying superior intellectual or social or economic status. Even though it is true in some case whereby some golfers comes are from rich home, but that should not stop people from engaging in such sport activity. Actually, people get rich through golf.

To me, Ghanaians have considered golf as a lesser spot as being bandied about by the sporting media. Because only few people are involved such sport activity makes golf boring to promotes. People are not interested in golf because they think it is for the rich people, the equipments used to play are expensive. But that is not the case here. One can get the equipment as cheap as hundred Ghana cedi (GHC 100.00)    

I think that what golf is about integrity, commitments and consistency not financial standings. I referred to integrity, a key requirement in golfing as one of the values the game offers. Playing golf comes with so many commitments, and so should be accorded the attention it deserves.
Walking from one hole to the other helps so much calories and the most important virtue golf teaches is veracity which is main part in human life in this world.

And as part of plans to ensure the sport is deep seated and embraced by all regardless of one’s social background, Ghana Golfers Association has to institutionalize golf competitions from primary school to tertiary on its calendar every year.

COACH HAYFORD WANTS THE PRINCESSES TO LIFT THE 2014 FIFA U-20 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP IN CANADA

Ghana will be making their third appearance on the World stage when the competition starts on 5 August in Toronto.

The Black Princesses have been drawn with hosts Canada in Group A alongside Finland and former champions Korea DPR.

Ghana and the hosts will contest the tournament’s opening match at Toronto’s National Stadium before fixtures against Finland and former champions Korea DPR. The World Cup will be played out between 5 and 24 August.

As a result of this draw  Many football pundits have described the Princesses as having being drawn in a tough group consisting of host Canada, Finland and 2006 Champions North Korea.

Though handed a tough start against the hosts in the tournament's curtain-raiser, Hayford is determined to raise the bar for the Black Princesses, who have failed to get past the first round in previous appearances. This time, Hayford wants them to go very far.

Coach Bashir Hayford also stated that with determination and their pre- World Cup workout friendlies matches played have boost the player’s confident level ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup indicating Ghana has a good chance of excelling in the competition.

Bashir Hayford says he wants Ghana to lift the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Canada even though it may be a bit intimidating they are up for the challenge.

After the last match of qualifying Ghanaians runs to jubilation finally the promise land is here and would be lead by Kwasi Appiah the presumed Moses. But to their surprised they find themselves in difficult group which some sports analyst called it group of death. When they got to the promise land the drama starts as some of the players complained of the accommodation provided just like how the Israelis complained to Moses.

Ghanaians were very confident that the blackstars will win their first match against the USA but they forgot that the American were there to take revenge on them. The blackstars end up defeated 2:1 but surprisingly draw 2:2 with Germany. For the first in history blackstars threaten not to play their last with Portugal if the appearance fee is paid to them. So I asked myself where our patriotism is. Why at this point? What is happening to the players who promise us that no matter what they make us proud?  My face was instantly struck with awe as the drama continues to the extent that a player slapped one of the officials. Could it be that they do not trust the officials anymore?  As a result the President Mahama got involved but still they won’t take his words so he has arranged for a flight of the money to them which made Ghana to enter the book of “Records”

As a result the players lost concentration to train before the match against Portugal which they end up being defeat by the Portuguese sending the blackstars packing home. My question is who should we blame for all this the players or the officials? The ball is in your court now.

Ghana were very happy to have entered to the presumed promise land as the Israeli escaped from the Egyptians to the promise land. but some way somehow the coach Kwesi  Appiah failed to put his tactics together to win his first world in Brazil. Ghanians got angry at his poor performance. Kwesi Appiah knowing the capability of his nation, he has to do his homework very well in order to correct his mistakes and if he fail to do his homework well that will be the end of him and as well as his career of managing the national team. indeed he redeemed himself to managing 2:2 with Germany with boost the morals of the nation and the players as well. but whether he can take the team to the next level is still a question mark?  

BLACK STARS AND THE PROMISE LAND 2

The Black Stars of Ghana became the fourth African nation to qualify for next year’s World Cup in Brazil, despite suffering a 2-1 loss away to Egypt, in the second leg of their play-off. The Black Stars travelled to Cairo, boasting a 6-1 advantage from the first leg in October and were never in danger of suffering any upset.
Amr Zaki gave the Pharaoh of Egypt the lead in the first half, but it was just a false flicker of hope. The second half almost panned out that way, before Gedo struck in the closing stages. There was also enough time for Kevin-Prince Boateng, to pull one back for the visitors, who qualified 7-3 on aggregate. Ghana joins neighbours Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroun, as the continent’s flag bearers.
At long last the mission to the dream land has finally come to pass and there has been celebration everywhere in Ghana. And even President John Mahama has congratulated the senior national team, the Black Stars, for qualifying to play in next year’s World Cup in Brazil as Ghana’s third consecutive participation in the tournament, and Mahama urged the team to work hard to bring the cup home. He also compelled the team to minimized jubilations and starts preparations because it is easier to qualify than to win.
He added that our participation in the Brazil 2014 tournament should not end with us saying “we could have done better.”And "This time we don't have to say we almost got there, but this time we have and bring the cup home. The whole nation will be watching. This is the time the team needs to work harder to be able to bring the cup home", said President Mahama.
As 24 millions of Ghanaian soccer fanatics who watched the critical FIFA World Cup qualifier march of the Black Stars of Ghana and the Pharaohs of Egypt were stunned to have seen a number of group supporters in President John Dramani Mahama’s customized T-shirt.
Which has resulted in political difference and question on everybody lips as whether it about “PATRIOTISM OR MAHAMISM”? : As a result the national democratic congress (NDC) communications team member, Dela Edem has described as inopportune, the noise being made about Ghanaian supporters clad in President John Mahama’s T-shirts during the second leg World Cup Qualifier in Cairo, Egypt .According to Dela, the T-shirt was to inspire the Black Stars to give off their best and to ensure Ghana qualifies to the world cup in Brazil.
  Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Thursday, Dela Edem said those raise concerns are just being duplicitous.Dela explain that the custom-made T-shirts were not authorized by government but rather a young man circulated it in Egypt as part of his input to the national course.“Out of the 300 supporters only 42 got the T-shirts with the caption JM supports the Black Stars, at the back is Ghana not NDC,” he stressed.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Even the players who were happy to see the supporters wearing the JM T-shirts gave them Puma branded caps to complement it”.Dela Edem said people should not act as if wearing a John Mahama T-shirt is a crime in Ghana.

Well all we ever want was to go to the promise land and if it has happened as we desire why rising concern over customized T-shirt. This does not mean that I’m in support with what went on at Cairo. But in first place was it a crime/wrong something to put on the face of country president Mahama on football grounds? Secondly was it the only appropriate way to inspire our players? Well I leave the questions for you to answer and judge for yourself........... still counting what happens next with the promise land?.......
